Fare inequities in public transit system in Costa Rica

Problems in transit fare equity affect the daily commute of specific groups that depend mostly on public transportation. Previous studies showed some routes present operational characteristics increased price charged to users. To address this issue, a methodology identify have fares much higher than expected, after considering parameters, is developed. This paper presents implemented evaluate inequities transport networks. The case study bus network Costa Rica. evaluation performed using per kilometer as independent variable and variables, such route length, monthly ridership vehicle occupancy by cluster analysis Bayesian multilevel modelling. results indicate random coefficients models perform better for clustered data.
